While my goal for spending time outdoors is to disconnect, sometimes I need to entertain myself through boring yard work, or just gab with a friend while getting in some outdoor time. I was happy to test out the XFyro Wireless and Waterproof Earbuds for this task.
The earbuds arrived in a small box that contained the earbuds, the charging case, three sets of earpieces in different sizes, a USB charging cord and a tiny little instruction manual. The right earbud was charged and connected to my phone with no issues. The left one was good to go after an overnight charge. I gave up on the tiny little instruction manual and utilized the expertise of my teen to figure out all the easy to use features like tap to play and pause and volume changing.
I took advantage of the built-in mic to catch up with a friend while hiking. The conversation was crisp and clear on both ends. With the fall season in Minnesota, I had the opportunity to try these out in both the heat and cold. I took advantage of a warm day to tackle yard work and listen to my favorite podcasts. The XFyro earbuds held up to sweat and splashing from the hose through several hours of work. I frequently found myself tracking down my phone after walking away from it, the range was almost a little too far. When winter reared its head with snow and temps in the teens a couple of weeks later I ventured out on a hike to try them out. They functioned just as well in the cold as in the heat besides the expected reduced battery life.
Pros:
- Long battery life enhanced by a charging case
- Excellent range – just remember where you put your phone
- Rugged- they hold up to the elements (and long steamy baths when you get back indoors)
- Sound – Great! I have to admit that while I love music I am not especially picky so will not get into a comparison of bass and treble here.
- Easy to use features- Tap to play and pause, voice control, tap volume control all add to the ease of use.
- Easily connects to devices as well as switches devices. (Demonstrated by frequent swiping by my teen)

Con:
Comfort: I had trouble keeping these in my ears unless the earpieces were so tight that my ears hurt. This is a personal preference as I don’t normally choose earbuds with rubber earpieces for this reason. My teen demonstrated this is not universal by swiping these often and experiencing no issues keeping them in his ears for hours.
My Recommendation: I would recommend these in terms of sound, ease of use, and range. Before investing in these, take into account the type of headphones you find comfortable, these may not be for you if you have sensitive ears.
